KENA ESTATE COFFEE WINS KEAUHOU RESORT
KONA COFFEE LABEL & WEBSITE COMPETITIONS

KEAUHOU, HAWAII'S BIG ISLAND - A record number of entries vied for $3,000
in cash prizes and gifts at the fifth annual Keauhou Resort Kona Coffee Label &
Website Competition. Over 100 entries were submitted to the label contest while
17 entries competed in the website contest held during the 34th annual Kona
Coffee Cultural Festival.
Vince Mills and Curtis Ludwig's Kena Estate Coffee swept the competition by
taking first place in both the label and the website competitions. This is the
first time a single Kona coffee farm has won both categories.
Winning Kona coffee label entries were judged on strong and appealing graphics
and clear, concise copy with a strong identity to Kona coffee. The website's
were similarly judged, but with the requirement that the website be dedicated to
the promotion of Kona coffee only, and with a strong identification to Kona and
the order process simple with a secure system.
Keauhou Resort Kona Coffee Label & Website Competition Chairman Valery O'Brien
expressed, "Our judges had a difficult time deciding from the many outstanding
entries. This event has been overwhelming successful with our highest
participation from a wealth of talented Kona coffee farmers, graphic artists and
designers."
